REMOVING THE BATTERY INSULATING STRIP

Your EC-214 is shipped with an insulating strip to prevent battery drain
during shipping, but you must remove it before using the EC-214.  To remove
it, grasp the strip firmly and pull it out.

USING THE FOLDING STAND

To use the stand, flip it out from the back of the lower case, then flip
the upper case backward and lay it on the stand.  Be sure the edge of the
upper case is securely latched in the stand's hooks.
