EC-2031 8-Digit LCD Dual Power Desktop Calculator (650-0590) Battery Faxback Doc. # 32219 REPLACING THE BATTERY The built-in solar panel powers the calculator in most cases. If there is not enough light to power the calculator, the internal battery (1.5V AA, Radio Shack Cat. No. 23-557) takes over. If the calculator slows down when using the battery, the battery is weak and should be replaced. 1. Turn the calculator upside-down. 2. Push the battery compartment door in the direction of the arrow (on the door) to remove it. 3. Insert the new battery into the battery compartment, following the polarity diagram (+ and -) in the battery compartment. 4. Replace the battery compartment door. BATTERY PRECAUTIONS Only use the size and type of battery specified. Follow the correct polarity when installing the battery. (A reversed battery can damage the calculator.) If the calculator is not going to be used for a long period of time, remove the battery to prevent damage or injury from possible battery leakage. (EB 4/23/96) (br 3/29/96)
