Analog Quartz Neon Alarm Clock (630-0768) Operation Faxback Doc. # 32278 The neon light is powered by the supplied AC adapter. Plug the adapter's cord into the clock's DC 9V jack. Then plug the adapter into any standard household AC outlet. Note: The adapter does not provide power to the clock. It only powers the neon light. To turn on the neon light, set NEON HI/LO/OFF to LO. For a brighter light effect, set NEON HI/LO/OFF to HI. Cautions: We recommend you use the supplied AC adapter. If you must use another AC adapter, be sure it supplies 9 volts DC and delivers 275 milliamps. Its center tip must be set to positive, and it must have a plug that properly fits the clock's DC 9V jack. (We recommend Cat. No. 273-1650 or 273-1651.) Using an adapter that does not meet these specifications could damage the clock. Always plug the adapter into the clock before you plug it into the AC outlet, and always unplug the adapter from the AC outlet before you unplug it from the clock. SETTING THE TIME Pull out the time setting knob fully and turn it in the direction indicated by the arrow to set the correct time. USING THE ALARM Setting the Alarm Time Push in the time setting knob and turn it in the direction indicated by the arrow until the alarm hand points to the desired alarm time. Activating the Alarm After you set the alarm time, set ALARM ON/OFF to ON to activate the alarm. At the alarm time, the alarm sounds. To turn off the alarm, set ALARM ON/ OFF to OFF. Notes: When the alarm sounds, the neon light flashes (regardless of the NEON HI/LOW/OFF switch position) if the supplied adapter is connected to an AC outlet. If you do not turn off the alarm, it continuously sounds for about 40 minutes. The alarm's volume increases after 10 seconds and increases again after another 10 seconds. It sounds at the loudest volume until the 40 minutes pass. Then it turns off and the alarm automatically resets to sound again 12 hours later. This cycle is continued until you deactivate the alarm by setting ALARM ON/OFF to OFF. To temporarily turn off the alarm, press SNOOZE. The alarm turns off and stays off for about 4 minutes before it sounds again. You can repeat this cycle up to 10 times if you press SNOOZE before the alarm finishes sounding. (EB 4/25/96) (WL 4/11/96)
