INSTALLING THE BATTERY

You can install a 9-volt battery for back-up power.  We recommend Radio
Shack Cat. No. 23-583.

NOTE:  Connect the alarm clock to an AC power outlet before you install the
       battery to prevent unnecessary drain on it.

Follow these steps to install the battery.

1.  Slide and lift off the battery compartment cover in the direction of
    the arrow.

2.  Snap the battery into the terminals and insert it into the battery
    compartment.

3.  Replace the battery compartment cover.

NOTES:  When the BATTERY SENTINEL indicator lights, replace the battery.

        If the display flashes when power is restored after a power
        failure, replace the battery and reset the clock.
