LCD Desktop Time and Weather Barometer (630-0856) Preparation Faxback Doc. # 32746 INSTALLING BATTERIES Your barometer is powered by four AAA batteries (not included). For best performance, we recommend alkaline batteries, such as RadioShack Cat. No. 23-555. 1. Lift up the desktop stand as shown. Then remove the battery compartment cover by sliding it in the direction of the arrow marked on the cover. 2. Install four batteries as indicated by the polarity symbols (+ and -) marked inside the battery compartment. When you first install the batteries, the display shows 12:00 AM, the current temperature, the partly cloudy weather illustration, and the barometric pressure trend charts. 3. Replace the battery compartment cover. NOTE: It takes about 24 hours for the barometer to store the pressure readings, so weather forecasting does not work properly until 24 hours have passed. When BATT appears in the bottom left corner of display, it is time to replace the batteries. CAUTION: Always replace old or weak batteries. They can leak chemicals that can damage the barometer. MOUNTING THE BAROMETER To place your barometer on a desktop, pull out its stand. You can also mount your barometer on a wall using a screw (not supplied) that fits into the key-hole slot. 1. Insert the screw into the wall until the head extends about 1/8 inch from the wall. 2. Position the key-hole slot over the screw head and slide the barometer down to secure it in place.
