    If you discover that the number you just input is wrong, press the [C]
    key.  This clears the number up to the last operator key ([+], [ - ],
    [X], [ / ], etc.) you pressed.  You can then input the correct number
    and continue with your calculation.

    If you press the wrong number key, use [->] to correct the input.  Each
    press of [->] shifts the displayed value to the right, eliminating
    digits one-by-one.  After you delete the digits you want, you can input
    more numbers.

Example:  To change 1234 to 1235

Operation               Display

[1] [2] [3] [4]                 1`234.

[->] (Deletes 4)            123.

[5]                       1`235.

    When using the above operation with a fraction value, each press of
    [->] deletes digits from the denominator, then the numerator, and then
    the integer part.

    If you press the wrong arithmetic operator key [+], [ - ], [X], [ / ],
    just press another one.

What to do when - E -, - [ - or E is on the display. . . . .

[ - E - ]

    Positive exponent becomes greater than 99 during a calculation.

    Press [AC] to clear the calculation.

    Positive exponent of value stored in memory becomes greater than 99
    during a calculation.

    Press [AC] to clear the calculation.

    The value that was stored in memory before the -E- appears on the
    display is retained in memory.

    Attempt to perform division by zero (for example: 6/0)

    Press [AC] to clear the calculation.

    Attempt to calculate the square root of a negative value.

    Press [AC] to clear the calculation.

    Calculation range on page 145 exceeded during a square root, square,
    or reciprocal calculation.

    Press [AC] to clear the calculation.

[ - [ - ] (Appears with E symbol.)

    Attempt to perform a complex calculation mixing parentheses and
    addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division; or attempt to
    perform a calculation with more than eighteen sets of parentheses.  See
    page 142 for details on the limitations of such calculations.

    Press [C] to clear the last value you input or press [AC] to clear the
    entire calculation.

[E]

    Integer part, numerator, or denominator of the result of a fraction
    calculation is longer than four digits.

    In this case, the result is displayed as a decimal value.  Press [C] to
    clear the error and use the displayed value.  You can also press [AC],
    which clears the error and the displayed value.

    Attempt to use [SIMP] to simplify a fractional value by a factor that
    is not common to the numerator and denominator.  For example, to
    simplify 14/156 by a factor of 7.

    In this case, the fractional value you input also remains on the
    display.  Press [C] to clear the error and use the displayed value. You
    can also press [AC], which clears the error and the displayed value.

    Quotient or remainder of the result of a division with remainder
    calculation is longer than four digits, or attempt to use a negative
    value in the calculation.

    In this case, the result appears automatically as a decimal value.
    Press [C] to clear the error and use the displayed value.  You can also
    press [AC], which clears the error and the displayed value.
