Sleep Machine Alarm Clock (630-0637) Preparation Faxback Doc. # 33701 USING AC POWER To power the Sleep Machine, plug the AC power cord into a standard AC outlet. 12:00 appears on the display. INSTALLING BACKUP BATTERIES To keep the Sleep Machine running if the power fails, install three AA batteries (not supplied) in your Sleep Machine. We recommend alkaline batteries, such as Radio Shack Cat. No. 23-552. NOTE: To prevent unnecessary drain on the batteries, make sure you connect the Sleep Machine to AC power before you install the batteries. 1. Slide the battery compartment cover in the direction of the arrow and remove it. 2. Insert three AA batteries in the compartment as indicated by the polarity symbols (+ and -) marked inside the compartment. CAUTIONS: Use only fresh batteries of the required size and type. Never mix fresh with old batteries. 3. Replace the cover. NOTES: If backup batteries are installed, during a power failure, the display stays lit, any sound effects continue to play for 1 hour, and the alarm will sound at the preset alarm time (up to 8 hours later). If the backup batteries have not run out of power, the display shows the current time after AC power is restored. When the BATTERY SENTINEL indicator lights, replace the batteries. CAUTION: Always dispose of old batteries promptly and properly. (LB/EB 06/20/96)
