Sleep Machine Alarm Clock (630-0637) Operation Faxback Doc. # 33702 USING THE ALARM CLOCK OPENING THE COVER 1. At the groove on top of the Sleep Machine, lift up the cover. 2. Tip it toward the back of the machine as far as it will go so it stays open. SETTING THE TIME 1. Press 12/24 to select 12- or 24-hour format. When you first connect power to the Sleep Machine, the 12-hour format is selected. NOTE: In the 12-hour format, PM appears on the display to show a PM hour. 2. Slide SET/RUN to SET. 3. Press (or press and hold) HR until the desired hour appears on the display. 4. Press (or press and hold) MIN until the desired minute appears on the display. 5. Slide SET/RUN to RUN. SETTING THE ALARM TIME 1. While you press and hold ALARM SET, press (or press and hold) HR until the desired hour appears. 2. Continue to hold down ALARM SET and press (or press and hold) MIN until the desired minute appears. NOTES: PM appears on the display to show a PM hour in the 12-hour format. Press and hold ALARM SET to view the alarm time at any time. USING THE ALARM 1. Set the ALARM SOUND to BIRD (for chirping sound) or BEEP (for a beep sound). 2. Adjust VOLUME to the desired level. Do not leave the volume turned all the way down or you will not be able to hear the alarm when it sounds. 3. Press ALARM ON/OFF once to set the alarm. (Volume) appears on the display. When the clock reaches the alarm time, the alarm sounds for about 3 minutes. If ALARM SOUND is set to BIRD, the volume increases after each group of three chips until it reaches the loudest sound. 4. When the alarm sounds, press any button to turn it off. NOTES: Press ALARM ON/OFF again to turn off the alarm so it will not sound again the next day. The alarm will not sound at the preset time if MOOD on the Sleep Machine is set to HAWAIIAN SURF, NIGHT TRAIN, or TROPICAL RAIN and the selected sound has begun (see "Using the Sleep Machine" below). USING THE BACKLIGHT Press LIGHT/SLEEP TIMER to turn on the backlight so you can view the alarm clock at night. The light dims gradually in about 9 seconds. USING THE SLEEP MACHINE 1. Set MOOD to HAWAIIAN SURF, NIGHT TRAIN, or TROPICAL RAIN. 2. Press and hold LIGHT/SLEEP TIMER and 0 0 appears on the display. 3. Within about 15 seconds, press MIN to set the sleep timer from 00 to 59 minutes. The Sleep Machine begins making the selected sound. 4. Adjust the VOLUME to a comfortable listening level. To manually turn off the Sleep Machine before the set time elapses, set MOOD to OFF. To start the machine again, set MOOD to HAWAIIAN SURF, NIGHT TRAIN or TROPICAL RAIN. The machine sounds for the rest of the set time. NOTES: To set the sleep timer the next time, press and hold LIGHT/SLEEP TIMER, then press MIN once to recall the time length you set last time. Repeatedly press (or press and hold) MIN to advance the minute. If you manually turn off the Sleep Machine before the set time elapses, the remaining set time will appear on the display when you press and hold LIGHT/SLEEP TIMER. When the minute display reaches 59, it goes to 0 0 and begins counting up again. USING THE PILLOW SPEAKER You can listen in privacy using the supplied pillow speaker. Simply insert the pillow speaker's 1/8-inch plug into the sleep machine's SPEAKER jack. NOTE: Connecting the pillow speaker automatically disconnects the built-in speaker. CAUTION: To prevent damage to the pillow speaker and to protect your hearing when you use the pillow speaker always turn VOLUME to its lowest setting before you turn on the machine.
