OPENING THE CASE

Grasp the bottom of the case with your thumb on one of the tabs.  Then
grasp the top of the case with your thumb on the raised dots and pull
the two sections apart.

Removing Protective Film

Before using the translator, remove the protective film that protects the
display during shipping.

INSTALLING BATTERIES

The translator comes with two CR2025, 3-volt, lithium batteries.  Follow
these steps to install the batteries.

1.  Use a Phillips screwdriver to remote the screw from the battery
    compartment cover and lift off the cover.

2.  Install the batteries with their position (+) sides up.

3.  Replace the cover and secure it with the screw.

When the translator functions erratically, press ON/OFF to turn it off,
then replace the batteries with Radio Shack Cat. No. 23-161.

WARNINGS:  Never let children play with a battery.  Swallowing a lithium
           battery could be fatal.

           To avoid risk of explosive, do not recharge, open, or heat a
           lithium battery or dispose of it in  a fire.
