This section also describes how to enter and change your personal password. To edit a confidential file record, see "Editing a Record" on Faxback Doc. # 35211. STORING THE PASSWORD Follow these steps to store your password for the first time or after you initialize your organizer. NOTES: The 5-character password can be letters or numbers or a combination of both (00000 is not a valid password.) Choose a password you can easily remember. If you forget your pass- word, you must delete it and store a new one. This removes all the information you saved in confidential records. 1. Press CONFIDENTIAL FILE. ENTER A PASSWORD THEN PRESS "RETURN" 2. Type in your 5-character password. 3. Press RETURN to store the password. To enter confidential records immediately after storing the password, see Steps 3-4 of "Entering Confidential File Records, below." ENTERING CONFIDENTIAL FILE RECORDS 1. Press ENTER. 2. Press CONFIDENTIAL FILE. TYPE IN CONFIDENTIAL INFORMATION 3. Enter the record. NOTE: Each confidential file can hold up to 59 lines of information. The maximum length for the first 58 lines is 24 characters and for the last line is 23 characters. 4. To store more records, press ENTER to store the record and repeat Steps 3 and 4. If you want to enter another mode, press any mode key to store the record and go to that mode. NOTE: If you entered a space, number, or symbol (for example #, -, +) as the first character, INVALID FILE appears and the record is not stored. The first character must be a letter. RECALLING CONFIDENTIAL FILE RECORDS 1. Press CONFIDENTIAL FILE. TYPE IN YOUR PASSWORD THEN PRESS "RETURN" 2. Type in your password, then press RETURN. The Confidential Index appears. NOTE: If you enter the wrong password, the organizer displays: YOUR PASSWORD WAS NOT ENTERED CORRECTLY PLEASE TRY AGAIN 3. Press \/ or /\ to position the selection arrow ( > ) to the left of the desired file, then press RETURN. The entire record appears. Or press the first letter of the confidential record you want to recall. NOTES: If more than one record begins with the specified character, PLEASE TYPE NEXT LETTER appears. Type in the next letter of the desired record. If you do not enter the next character, in about 2 seconds the organizer displays the first record that starts with the speci- fied character. To avoid the 2-second pause, press >. If the displayed record is not the one you want press < or > to scroll through the records in alphabetical order. If no record starts with the character you entered, NO FILE MATCH PLEASE TRY AGAIN appears on the display. To recall other files, repeat Step 3. CHANGING THE PASSWORD This procedure deletes the password but does not delete any other stored information. 1. Press CONFIDENTIAL FILE. 2. Press DELETE. 3. Type in your password, then press DELETE again. The display shows ENTER A PASSWORD THEN PRESS "RETURN". 4. Type in the new password, then press RETURN. NOTE: If you do not enter a new password within 3 minutes, the organ- izer reverts to the previous password. DELETING THE PASSWORD (IF YOU DO NOT REMEMBER IT) If you forget the password, you must delete it before you can store a new password. CAUTION: This procedure also deletes all confidential records! 1. Press CONFIDENTIAL FILE. 2. Type in 00000 (five zeros), then press RETURN. A warning display appears. WARNING!!! YOUR CONFIDENTIAL FILES WILL BE DELETED! ARE YOU SURE THAT YOU WANT TO CONTINUE? Y/N 3. If you are sure that you want to delete the password, press Y. All previously entered confidential records are deleted. Type in your new password (1-5 characters long), then press RETURN. If you are not sure, press N. The display returns to the password prompt. Type in your existing password, then press RETURN. (LB/EB 10/17/96)
