EC-377 128K Pager ID Electronic Organizer (650-0877) Care and Maintenance Faxback Doc. # 35213 Your Radio Shack EC-377 128K Pager ID Electronic Organizer by Rolodex is an example of superior design and craftsmanship. The following suggestions will help you care for your EC-377 so you can enjoy it for years. Keep your organizer dry. If it gets wet, wipe it dry immediately. Liquids might contain minerals that can corrode the electronic circuits. Handle your organizer gently and carefully. Dropping it can damage the circuit board and can cause it to work improperly. Use and store your organizer only in normal temperature environments, and avoid sudden temperature changes. Temperature extremes can shorten the life of electronic devices, damage batteries, and distort or melt plastic parts. NOTE: At very low temperatures, the display's response time might slow down or fail completely. This is only temporary. Your organizer returns to normal operation at warmer temperatures. Keep your organizer away from dust and dirt, which can cause pre- mature wear of parts. Wipe your organizer with a damp cloth occasionally to keep it looking new. Do not use harsh chemicals, cleaning solvents, or strong detergents to clean your EC-377. Use only fresh batteries of the recommended size and type. Always remove old or weak batteries. They can leak chemicals that can destroy electronic circuits. Modifying or tampering with the organizer's internal components can cause a malfunction and might invalidate the organizer's warranty. If your organizer is not performing as it should, take it to your local Radio Shack store for assistance. RESETTING THE ORGANIZER If your EC-377 is exposed to a strong static electrical charge, the organ- izer might lock up or the display might dim. This rarely happens, but if it does, reset the organizer. NOTE: The reset procedure does not delete any information. It only resets the system settings. Insert a pointed object (such as a straightened paper clip) into the RESET hole at the left of the display, then press and release. CAUTION: Do not press ENTER and 3 when resetting your organizer, or all your stored information will be deleted. If your EC-377 still does not work properly replace the batteries and press RESET again. NOTE: If your EC-377 is still working improperly after resetting it, try initializing it. Follow these steps in "Initializing the Organizer" on Faxback Doc. # 35207. Make sure you have backup records of your EC-377's records because initializing it deletes all files. (LB/EB 10/17/96)
