Rolodex Data Transfer Faxback Doc. # 8880 ROLODEX EC-339, EC-340, EC-348 (65-939, 65-940, 65-840) DATA TRANSFER The catalog and manuals discuss data transfer between these three units, however, it does not mention that the file formats are different. On the EC-339 and the EC-340 the phone number field and the fax number field are on the same line. On the EC-348 the fields are on separate lines. When you transfer data between them the Fax number will not be moved to the next line on the EC-348. Deleting the Fax number will allow the EC-348 to transfer data with no problems. The 650-0840 organizer and Rolodex's comparable model will not communicate effectively. This is because the software in Rolodex's model has been updated and now inserts a comma in between two telephone numbers in an entry. This comma does not exist in the 650-0840 organizer. The Rolodex model will take data from the 650-0840 and if an entry has two phone numbers, it will automatically add a comma between them. However, if the 65-0840 receives data (a two number entry) from the Rolodex model with this comma, it will lock up during data transfer and must then be reset. The EC-348 can have only a 12-digit entry in the number field. An entry of more than 12 digits will cause a lock up of this unit. UPLINK PROCEDURE--FROM DATABANK TO PC 1.
