You need three AA batteries to power the alarm.  For the best performance,
we recommend alkaline batteries, such as Radio Shack Cat. 23-552.

Follow these steps to install the batteries.

1.  Use a flathead screwdriver to loosen the screw on the battery
    compartment cover, and remove the screw.  Then remove the cover.

2.  Install three AA batteries in the battery compartment, as indicated by
    the polarity symbols (+ and -) marked inside the compartment.

    CAUTION:  Use only fresh batteries of the required size and type.

3.  Replace the cover and secure it with the screw.

NOTE:  If the alarm's sound weakens, replace the battery.
