No., 23-553) mitters and motion sensor Eight C Batteries - to power the base in case of a (Cat. No. 23-551) power failure Approximately 20 Feet of Wire - to connect the door/window (Cat. No. 278-862) transmitters to the sensors One 12-Volt Battery - to power the remote control (Cat. No. 23-144) OPTIONAL DEVICES You might want to add one or more of the following: Extra door/window sensor/transmitters - Cat. No. 49-2015 Smoke alarm siren detectors - Cat. No. 49-2020 (for use with UL-approved smoke alarms, you must also add Cat. No. 49-458) Extra remote controls - Cat. No. 49-2030 (up to a total of three) Extra PIR motion sensors - Cat. No. 49-2025 External siren - Cat. No. 49-487. (supplementary use only) For more information about optional devices, see "Adding Optional Devices." NOTES: Some insurance companies give a discount for homes protected by properly installed security and fire alarm systems. Check with your insurance carrier about requirements for such a discount. Home security systems require a permit in some areas. Check with your local law-enforcement agency before you install your system. This system provides Grade B service, which does not supervise the sensors to check for proper connection. You should test the complete system, including every security sensor, once per week with AC power disconnected from the base to ensure complete protection.
