Infrared Alarm System (490-0330) Preparation Faxback Doc. # 17266 INSTALLING/REPLACING BATTERIES 1. If the system is installed, remove it from the wall. 2. Remove the screw from the battery compartment cover with a Phillips head screwdriver and lift off the cover. 3. Remove old batteries and install fresh ones, following the polarity symbols (+ and -) marked in the compartment. 4. Close the cover and tighten the screw. NOTE: Replacing batteries resets the security code to 1 2 3 4. Low Battery Indication When battery is low, LOW BATT flashes every 10 seconds. Immediately replace all the batteries with fresh ones. SETTING THE SECURITY CODE You use your 4 digit security code to arm the system. The default code is 1 2 3 4. Follow these steps to program a new security code. 1. Disarm the system (the ARMED indicator should not be flashing) by entering the current security code, if necessary. 2. Press PROG. 3. Enter the current security code. 4. Enter your new security code. 5. Press PROG. After you change the security code, confirm it is correct by arming and disarming the system. See "Arming and Disarming" (Faxback Doc. # 17265). If You Forget Your Security Code You can reset the code to the factory default (1 2 3 4) by removing the batteries. NOTE: If the system is armed, the tamper alarm sounds immediately when you remove it from the wall.
