Passive Infrared Alarm (490-0320) Preparation Faxback Doc. # 18580 SETTING THE ENTRY DELAY If you want the alarm to sound immediately when someone enters the covered area, set ENTRY DELAY to INST (instant). To have time to directly disarm the alarm when you enter the covered area, set ENTRY DELAY to DELAY. This gives you a 15 second entry delay before the alarm sounds. TESTING THE COVERED AREA Once you complete the installation, you should test the covered area. We recommend you test the alarm once a week. Before testing, check the following: The remote switch is ON (if you connected it), or the jumper is connected to the REMOTE SWITCH terminals (if you did not connect a remote switch). Power is supplied to the alarm and the 90 second warm-up time is over. NOTES: This procedure verifies only the infrared beam coverage. Any external device you might have connected does not turn on. Follow these steps to test the covered area. 1. Set ALARM to TEST. 2. Walk through the area you want to protect and watch the ALARM/BATT TEST indicator. The indicator lights and stays on as long as you continue to move within the zones. 3. Reposition the alarm if necessary and repeat Step 2. (JC 11/02/95
