Automatic Message Dialer (490-0433C) Features Faxback Doc. # 19243 The Safe House Automatic Message Dialer is an excellent addition to your security system. Whenever the alarm system is violated, the dialer can automatically dial up to three stored phone numbers (up to 15 digits long) and play your recorded message. The dialer provides the following special features. Easy Installation - lets you quickly set up the dialer and begin operation. Versatile Alarm System Contacts - let you connect the dialer to many different types of alarm systems, such as Radio Shack 49-475 or 49-485. Backup Battery and Battery - provides backup power in case of an AC Test Button power failure and lets you test the battery's power. Pulse and Touch-Tone Compatible - lets you use the dialer with a pulse-only or a pulse/touch-tone phone line.* Switchable Monitor - lets you turn off the speaker so intruders do not hear your outgoing message and disable the alarm. * This dialer does not work with tone-only phone lines. We have designed your dialer to conform to federal regulations, and you can connect it to most telephone lines. However, each dialer (and each device, such as a telephone or answering machine) you connect to the telephone line draws power from the line. We refer to this power draw as the device's ringer equivalence number, or REN. The REN is shown on the bottom of the dialer. If you use more than one telephone or other device on the line, add up all the RENs. If the total is more than five, your telephones might not ring. In rural areas, a total REN of three might impair ringer operation. Your dialer complies with Part 68 of FCC Rules. You must, upon request, provide the FCC registration number and the REN to your telephone company. Both numbers are shown on the bottom of the dialer. This dialer is U.L. listed under Standard Number 114 for office appliances and business equipment. NOTE: You must not connect your dialer to: Coin-operated systems Party-line systems Most electronic key telephone systems (CS 12/20/95)
