Wireless Remote Control Center (610-2676B) Troubleshooting Faxback Doc. # 19623 1. If the remote control does not turn the control center module on or off: Check that the red light on the remote control comes on when you press a button. Replace the batteries if necessary (4 AAA alkaline). Check that the house code dials and selector switches (1-8 or 9-16) on the control center module and the remote control are set correctly. Check that you have power to the outlet and the switch on the light or appliance is on. 2. If the control center module won't turn on or off from another type of plug'n power controller: Try plugging the control center module and the other plug'n power controller into the same outlet. If the control center module doesn't work in ANY outlet, even when it is connected to the same duplex outlet (top and bottom) as the controller, replace the control center module. If it works in some outlets but not in others, contact your nearest Radio Shack store for help. 3. If you can't control other plug'n power modules from your remote control: Try controlling the modules from another plug'n power controller if you have one, with the controller and module in the same receptacle (see 2. above). If the only controller you own is the control center module (this module is a transmitter as well as a receiver) use an extension cord in order to plug the control center module and your other plug'n power module into the same receptacle. If the module doesn't work in the same receptacle as the controller, replace the module. INTERCOM SYSTEMS Intercom systems which send voice signals over existing electrical wiring may interfere with the ability to control other modules from your control center when the intercom is in use. If the intercom system has its own separate wiring, it will not cause a problem. Intercoms will NOT interfere with the ability to control the control center from the remote control. POWER INTERRUPTIONS When the power is restored after an outage, Lamp Modules and Wall Switch Modules will normally be OFF. You can use the remote control to turn Lamp and Wall Switch modules on after a power failure. Appliance modules (including the control center module) have a "latching relay mechanism" and will stay as they were before the interruption. (CS 1/11/96)
