Remote Control Talking Alarm System
(490-0740) Setting the Security Code Faxback Doc. # 31174

The security code helps eliminate false triggering by similar systems.
Follow these steps to set the security code for the control center and the
two supplied remote transmitters.

1. Press LEARNING on the back of the control center. The system
announces, "Remote code is being learned."

NOTE: The alarm does not function until you set the security code.

2. Press any button on the remote transmitter. The system announces,
    "Thank you."

3. Repeat Steps 1 and 2 for the other remote transmitter, if desired.

NOTES: Each remote transmitter has a different built-in security code.
The new codes replace the old codes.

If power is lost or disconnected for more than 15 seconds, you
might need to reset the security code. If your battery goes
dead, you must reset the code.

To purchase a replacement remote transmitter, contact your local
        RadioShack store.

TESTING THE SYSTEM

    # 17327.)

    Automatic Arming and Disarming

    Remote Arming and Disarming

    Panic Alarm

    Exit and Entry Delays

NOTE: You should repeat this procedure any time you disconnect, jump
start, or replace your vehicle's battery.

SETTING THE MOTION SENSOR'S SENSITIVITY

The alarm system's motion sensor detects vibrations. Follow these steps to
set the motion sensor's sensitivity.

1. Arm the system and set its sensitivity by pushing or rocking the
vehicle with the same pressure you want to have trigger the alarm.
The alarm sounds when something exceeds the alarm's sensitivity.

2. Disarm the system to silence the alarm (see "Operation" Faxback Doc.
    # 17327).

3. To adjust the sensitivity, remove the rubber grommet covering the
sensitivity control on the back of the control center.

4. Use a Phillips screwdriver to decrease the sensitivity by turning the
control counterclockwise so strong vibrations are required to set off
the alarm. Or, turn the control clockwise to increase the sensitivity
so even slight vibrations sound the alarm.

Experiment with different settings until the alarm operates how you
    want it to.

5. Replace the rubber grommet.
