Universal Garage Remote (610-2107) Installation Faxback Doc. # 31189 INSTALLING THE RECEIVER MODULE You can install the receiver module at the garage door opener's open/close switch (usually located near the door leading into the home), or at the opener's motor box in the center of the garage ceiling. WARNING: While you are installing the system, keep all people, pets and objects clear of the garage door. Make sure the white antenna wire is fully extended and the slide switch is in the NO AC Adapter position, away from the receiver's 12VDC 50 MA jack. Mounting At The Garage Door Opener's Switch 1. Disconnect power from the garage door opener. 2. Remove the screws holding the switch plate to the wall, and remove the switch plate so you can see the two terminal screws holding the wires that run to the motor box. 3. Use a screwdriver to loosen the terminal screws. Attach the receiver module's black and gray wires, one to each screw terminal. Then tighten the screws. 4. Reconnect power to the garage door opener. The red LED on the receiver blinks once every 5 seconds. If the red LED does not blink, repeat Steps 2 and 33, reversing the black and gray wires. If it still does not blink, see "Troubleshooting," Faxback Doc. # 31190. NOTE: If your system has three wires (not two), you must find the correct two wires that make the red LED blink. 5. Replace the switch's cover and secure it with its screws. 6. Mount the receiver module to the wall with the supplied double-sided tape or the two supplied screws.
