Universal Garage Remote (610-2107) Setting The Relay Output Style Faxback Doc. # 31192 You can choose one of three types of relay outputs, indicated by how many times the red LED flashes when in the programming mode described at the end of this section: Momentary (1 flash) - a 130 millisecond relay closure. Use this setting for normal garage door operation or for any custom application. Latching (2 flashes) - closes the relay until you push the button again. Use this setting for turning on or off a lamp or appliance. Sustaining (3 flashes) - closes the relay for as long as you hold down the transmitter button. Your system is factory-set to the Momentary relay output mode for normal garage door operation. Follow these steps to change the output mode: 1. Push and hold the white button on the side of the receiver for about 5 seconds, until you see the red LED flash the number of times that corresponds to the desired relay output style. 2. Release the button at the desired mode. NOTES: If you continue holding down the button, the receiver continues cycling through the modes until you release the button. You can change the relay output mode at any time without affecting the "learned" transmitter codes. Here are examples of each output type: Momentary: To interface with Plug'n Power products, use a Radio Shack Universal Interface (Cat. No. 610-2687). Latching: To use the system to control a 110 VAC lamp or appliance, use an external relay, such as Radio Shack Cat. No. 275-248. Push the transmitter's button to turn the lamp or appliance on. Push the button again to turn it off. Sustaining: Connect a buzzer, such as Radio Shack Cat. No. 273-060. The buzzer sounds for as long as you hold the transmitter's button down. (CS 3/6/96)
