Vehicle Alarm System (490-0712) Operation Faxback Doc. # 31505 TRIGGERING THE ALARM The alarm's siren is triggered in the following ways: If a door is opened (and the interior light turns on) when the system is armed, the siren sounds instantly for 30 seconds or until you disarm the system. If the motion sensor detects vibrations when the system is armed, the siren sounds instantly for 30 seconds or until you disarm the system. IF ARM and DISARM are pressed at the same time on the transmitter, the alarm sounds instantly until you disarm the system. NOTE: If you have a cellular telephone, turn it off before you leave your vehicle. Otherwise, your alarm can detect the power drain and sound the alarm. The siren beeps once and the red indicator lights steadily to indicate that the system is armed. The transmitter has a maximum range of about 30 feet. The range depends on your installation, the location of nearby metal objects, and the strength of the remote transmitter's battery. DISARMING THE SYSTEM You have to disarm the system from outside the vehicle (with all the doors closed) to avoid sounding the alarm. Press DISARM on the transmitter. The siren beeps twice.
