Your Radio Shack Vehicle Alarm System is an example of superior design and
craftsmanship.  The following suggestions will help you care for the system
so you can enjoy it for years.

    Keep the system dry.  If it gets wet, wipe it dry immediately.  Liquids
    might contain minerals that can corrode the electronic circuits.

    Handle the system gently and carefully.  Dropping it can damage the
    circuit boards and can cause the system to work improperly.

    Use only a fresh battery of the recommended size and type in each
    remote transmitter.  Always remove an old or weak battery.  It can leak
    chemicals that can destroy electronic circuits.

Modifying or tampering with the system's internal components can cause a
malfunction and might invalidate the system's warranty and void your FCC
authorization to operate it.  If your system is not performing as it
should, take it to your local Radio Shack store for assistance.

FCC STATEMENT

Your system might cause TV or radio interference ever when it is operating
properly.  To determine whether your system is causing the interference,
turn off your system.  If the interference goes away, your system is
causing it.  Try to eliminate the interference by:

    Moving your system away from the receiver

    Contacting your local Radio Shack store for help

If you cannot eliminate the interference, the FCC requires that you stop
using your system.

REPLACING A REMOTE'S BATTERY

Each remote transmitter uses a 12-volt battery for power.  Replace the
battery if the indicator fails to light when you press ARM, DISARM, or
VALET, or if the range is reduced.  We recommend an alkaline battery such
as Radio Shack Cat. No. 23-144.

Follow these steps to replace the battery.

1.  Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the screw from the remote
    transmitter's back and lift off the cover.

2.  Remove the old battery and discard it promptly and properly.

    WARNING:  Never allow children to play with the battery.  SWALLOWING
              A BATTERY COULD BE FATAL.

3.  Insert the new battery.  Be sure the polarity symbols (+ and -) match
    the markings inside the battery compartment.

4.  Replace the remote transmitter's cover and secure it with the screw.
