Two-Zone Remote Keypad Burglar Alarm Control Center (490-0451) Customizing System Faxback Doc. # 33425 CHANGING THE PASS CODE You arm or disarm the alarm center by using the number keys on the remote keypad to enter a four digit pass code you choose. The default pass code for the alarm center is 1234. Follow these steps to enter a new pass code. 1. If the alarm center is armed, use the keypad to enter the current pass code or 1234 (the default pass code). The alarm center is disarmed. 2. Press and hold down * on the keypad until the LOOP indicator slowly flashes. 3. Within 30 seconds, use the keypad to enter the current pass code. The LOOP indicator turns off. 4. Within 30 seconds, use the keypad to enter the new pass code. The alarm center stores the pass code you entered, and the LOOP indicator lights. You can now arm or disarm the alarm center by entering the new pass code. NOTE: If you do not enter the correct pass code within 30 seconds in Steps 3 or 4, simply start again from Step 2. SETTING THE EXIT AND ENTRY DELAY The DELAY TIME ADJ EXIT control lets you adjust how long the alarm system will wait before arming. If a sensor is violated in the Delayed Zone, then reset before the pre-alarm stops sounding, the alarm will not sound. This gives you time to exit your home or office after arming the system. The DELAY TIME ADJ ENTRY control lets you adjust how long the alarm system will wait before sounding the alarm, to give you time to disarm the system. During this period, the pre-alarm sounds. NOTES: The pre-alarm sounds when any sensor is violated in the delayed zone. Use the pre-alarm as a reminder to disarm the system. Be sure to set DELAY TIME ADJ EXIT and DELAY TIME ADJ ENTRY while the alarm center is disarmed. Turn DELAY TIME ADJ EXIT fully counterclockwise to set the exit delay time to 0 seconds, or fully clockwise to set the exit delay time to 45 seconds, or to any point in-between. Turn DELAY TIME ADJ ENTRY fully counterclockwise to set the entry delay time to 0 seconds, or fully clockwise to set the entry delay time to 45 seconds, or to any point in-between. NOTE: If you use a remote keypad mounted outside a protected zone to arm and disarm the alarm system, set both DELAY TIME ADJ EXIT and DELAY TIME ADJ ENTRY to 0. RESTORING THE DEFAULT PASS CODE To restore the default pass code (1234), unplug the AC adapter from the AC outlet, then disconnect the backup batteries inside the alarm center. Then, after about 30 seconds, reconnect the batteries and plug the AC adapter into the AC outlet. (SP/EB 5/25/96)
