DUAL-ELEMENT INFRARED MOTION SENSOR (490-0531) Connections Faxback Doc. # 33464 Wiring The wiring connections for the Infrared Motion Sensor are shown in the diagram (See Faxback Doc. # 33469, Fig "C"). The POWER (+ and -) terminals must be connected to a constant source of 12 volts DC power (preferably with battery back-up). This unit draws 24 mA of current from the power source. NOTE: The motion sensor is tripped if power to the unit is cut. Connect the ALARM terminals to the normally closed loop of your alarm system. (Note for non-Radio Shack systems: This loop must not carry more than 30 volts at 50 mA.) Connect the TAMPER terminals to the 24 hour panic/tamper/momentary loop of your system. See the wiring chart for the proper terminal connections for normally open and normally closed loops. (Note for non-Radio Shack systems: This loop must not carry more than 60 volts at 50 mA.) To connect the wires: 1. Strip a small amount (1/4 inch) of insulation from the wire. 2. Loosen the screw at the appropriate terminal. 3. Insert the wire into the hole on top of the terminal. 4. Tighten the terminal screw. Be sure not to overtighten the screw. (BR/EB 6/6/96)
