PIR Control Floodlight (610-2606) Installation Faxback Doc. # 34683 WIRING AND MOUNTING THE LIGHTING SYSTEM SAFETY PRECAUTIONS You can connect the lighting system to either an existing or new lighting circuit. The lighting circuit must be connected to a 120 volt, 60 Hz power source that is controlled by a wall switch. * Do not attempt installation unless you have some experience with household wiring. * Before you touch or expose any wiring, turn off the electricity to wiring at the fuse or circuit-breaker box. * Check and follow all local building codes for electrical wiring. If you intend to replace an existing light with this fixture, turn off electricity and simply disconnect and remove the old fixture. Then follow these steps to wire the lighting system onto your existing outlet box. If there is no outlet box already in place, have a qualified electrician install one. IMPORTANT: All wiring for this fixture comes through the back of the fixture. Do not attempt to disassemble the lighting system. 1. Using the supplied wire nuts or other approved wire connectors, connect the black wire from the fixture to the black power supply wire from your power source. Then connect the white wire from the fixture to the white power supply wire. The system is made of non-conductive material. Therefore, no ground wire is required. 2. Line up the holes on the gasket with the fixture's mounting plate, and insert the two supplied mounting screws into the mounting plate and gasket. Then drive the two mounting screws into your junction box to secure the fixture. 3. Insert the gaskets into the lampholders. 4. Adjust the lampholders so the floodlight bulbs will light the desired area. NOTES: * Be sure neither floodlight bulb will be closer than 1/2 inch to the sensor. * Before adjusting the lampholders, remove the floodlight bulbs. * The lampholders have a stopping feature to prevent the socket wires from twisting and possibly breaking. DO NOT try to force the lampholders past this stopping point. 5. Screw two floodlight bulbs (not included) into the lampholders. Use a maximum of 150 watt par 38 bulbs for each lampholder. CAUTIONS: * Each floodlight bulb's rating must not exceed 150 watts. * Do not overnight the bulbs. 6. Apply silicone caulking compound (not included) around the edge of the mounting plate to prevent water entry. (IR-09/24/96)
