Battery Backup on the 49-450 and 49-450A is accomplished with 10 "C" size NiCd or 8 "C" size alkaline batteries inside the unit. Battery Backup on the 49-450B and 49-450C is accomplished with 2 6V 2.5AH NiCd batteries (23-181) stored inside the panel. The batteries are connected to the panel by a red and a black lead and not by screw terminals.
