Disarm the system. 2. Be sure the BATTERY indicator is off. 3. Remove the screw that secures the power adapter to the AC outlet, and unplug the adapter. OR Turn off the breaker (or remove the fuse) that controls power to the AC outlet you have plugged the power adapter into. 4. Be sure the BATTERY indicator is on. If it is not on, check the connections to the backup battery and check the BATTERY fuse. If all connections are secure and the fuse is good, replace the batteries. Otherwise, correct the problem before you continue. 5. Press DELAY. The DELAY indicator lights. 6. Violate each sensor in every zone except the panic zone, one at a time. If the sensor is functioning properly, each time you violate a sensor, the sensor's zone indicator flashes and the console sounds a tone. 7. If any sensor is not functioning properly, repair or replace the sensor for full protection. BEFORE YOU PERFORM THE NEXT TESTS, NOTIFY NEIGHBORS AND THE PROPER AUTHORITIES. THESE TESTS WILL MAKE THE SYSTEM'S ALARM SOUND. 8. If you have install LED a security dialer, disconnect it from the system. 9. Press each panic switch. The burglar alarm sounds. Disarm the system to silence the alarm. 10. Reconnect the security dialer. 11. Press and hold down DELAY. After about 2 seconds, the burglar alarm sounds for 1 second. Then, the fire alarm sounds for 1 second. The system alternates between the two alarms while you hold down DELAY. 12. If either alarm does not sound, check the wiring and fuses for the alarms. (BURGLAR fuse for the burglar alarm and FIRE fuse for the fire alarm). Correct the problem. 13. After you complete all tests, reconnect the power adapter. 14. Press DELAY so that the DELAY indicator is off to return to normal operation. (SMC/jlc-02/22/94)
