This SIP socket was made not only for SIP ICs but also for every leads
uses such as thicker capacitor and/or resistor leads.  According to the
vendor, 1.44 mm leads can be mounted.

The construction of this SIP socket is not the same as others and unable
to make other DIP sockets without retooling.  To bend terminals toward 
plastic wall may be a good solution but retooling will be required and
spring tension will be weakened in case of thicker lead insertion.
