Coax Wire Stripper (278-0247) Operation Faxback Doc. # 32678 Your Coax Wire Stripper lets you strip RG6, RG59, and RG62 cable. Follow these instructions for a 1/4-inch strip like the strip gage shown on the side of the Wire Stripper. Note: You can strip different lengths by positioning the cable differently. The stripper is 1/2-inch thick, with the cutting blade molded directly on the tool's centerline. 1. Snap the tension arm into the notch in the finger loop. 2. Insert your index finger in the finger loop and press the ridged area with your thumb to open the jaws. 3. With your other hand, insert the cable to be stripped into slot B so the end of the cable extends about 1/4-inch beyond the side of the Wire Stripper. Release the pressure from the ridged area to close the jaws. 4. Hold the cable near the Wire Stripper's jaws and rotate the tool around the cable in "Direction of Rotation B" (marked on the Wire Stripper) four or five times, or until you no longer hear the cutting sound. 5. Hold the Wire Stripper firmly and pull the cable to remove the scrap outer jacket. 6. Open the jaws again and insert the cable into slot A so the end of the cable is flush with the side of the Wire Stripper. 7. Hold the cable near the Wire Stripper's jaws and rotate the tool in "Direction of Rotation A" (marked on the Wire Stripper) six or eight times, or until you no longer hear the cutting sound. 8. Hold the Wire Stripper firmly and pull the cable to remove the scrap inner insulation. 8200 EASY-STRIP TWO LEVEL STRIPPING INSTRUCTIONS FOR RG6, RG59, AND RG62 CABLE Snap the tension arm into the notch of the finger loop. This assembly procedure is required to provide proper cutting pressure. Squeeze Easy-Strip to permit entry of the cable into the outer nest "B". Hold the cable close to Easy-Strip and rotate tool around the cable four or five revolutions or until cutting action can no longer be heard. Hold Easy-Strip firmly and pull the cable to remove the scrap. Squeeze Easy-Strip to permit entry of the cable into inner nest "A". Hold the cable close to Easy-Strip and rotate tool clockwise around the cable six to eight revolutions. The number of rotations may vary with cable brand or type and is best determined through experimentation. Hold Easy-Strip and pull the cable to remove scrap. Compare the cable preparation to the strip gage molded into the Easy Strip body. This procedure produces 1/4 x 14 prep. Note: Strip variations may be obtained by positioning the cable differently than the instructions suggest. The thickness of Easy-Strip is 1/2 inch with the cutting blade molded directly on the centerline of the tool. (RMF/EB 4/26/96)
