The following suggestions will help you care for the camcorder so you can enjoy it for years. Do not expose the camcorder to high temperatures. Excessive heat can damage the camcorder. Do not place the camcorder near a heat source (heaters, etc.). Do not leave the camcorder in a closed car on hot days. If you notice anything unusual (smoke, strange noise or odor, etc.), immediately turn off the camcorder. Contact the local Radio Shack store for assistance. Do not let moisture (rain, steam, dew, water, etc.) enter the camcorder. Do not allow any foreign objects (sand, metal objects, flammable articles, etc.) to enter the camcorder. Do not put anything except 8 mm video tape cassettes inside the cassette compartment. Do not aim the camcorder directly at bright light sources. Do not aim the camcorder near sources of heat or bright light. Do not use this camcorder under the following conditions: high humidity, high vibration, excessive dust or dirt, near strong magnetic fields (near transmitting antennas, motors, fluorescent lights, etc.). Do not use the camcorder as a security camera. It is designed to automatically shut off when left in the record pause mode for about 5 minutes. This protects the tape from damage and prevents the camcorder from overheating. Do not wrap the camcorder in any material during operation. The temperature inside the camcorder could cause malfunctions or permanent damage. Use only fresh batteries of the required size and type. Always remove old or weak batteries. REPLACING THE REMOTE CONTROL'S BATTERY A CR2025 lithium battery powers the remote control. If the remote's range decreases or the remote control does not operate, replace the battery. Follow these steps to replace the battery. WARNINGS: Replace the lithium batteries only with a type CR2025 battery (Radio Shack Cat. No. 23-161). Use of a different battery type might present the risk of fire or explosion. Keep the batteries away from children. If a battery is swallowed, see a doctor immediately. A swallowed battery could be harmful or even fatal. Dispose of used lithium batteries promptly in a manner that complies with all applicable laws. Lithium batteries might present the risk of fire or chemical burn if mishandled. Do not recharge or disassemble them. Do not heat them above 212 degrees F (100 degrees C), and do not dispose of them in fire. 1. Use the tip of a pen to press the latch on the battery tray compartment on the rear of the remote control. Slide the tray out of the compartment. 2. Remove the old battery. 3. Install the battery into the tray with the (+) side facing up in the compartment tray, as indicated by the marking. 4.
