Model 19 (160-0411) Care and Maintenance Faxback Doc. # 16546 Your Model 19 9-inch Color TV/VCP is an example of superior design and craftsmanship. The following suggestions will help you care for the Model 19 so you can enjoy it for years. Keep the Model 19 dry. If it does get wet, wipe it dry immediately. Liquids can contain minerals that corrode the electronic circuits. For your remote control, use only fresh batteries of the recommended size and type. Always remove old or weak batteries. They can leak chemicals that can damage electronic circuits. Handle the Model 19 gently and carefully. Dropping it can damage its circuit boards and case and can cause it to work improperly. Use and store the Model 19 only in normal temperature environments. Temperature extremes can shorten the life of electronic devices, and distort or melt plastic parts. Keep the Model 19 away from dust and dirt, which can cause premature wear of parts. The Model 19 has ventilation holes to allow heat to dissipate properly. Obstructing these holes or placing your Model 19 in a confined location can prevent proper ventilation and cause malfunctions to occur. Modifying or tampering with your Model 19's internal components can cause a malfunction and might invalidate the Model 19's warranty and void your FCC authorization to operate it. If your Model 19 is not performing as it should, the suggestions in the troubleshooting chart might help. If you still have trouble, take your Model 19 to your local Radio Shack store for assistance. CABINET CLEANING Wipe the front panel and other exterior surfaces of the Model 19 with a clean, soft, dry cloth. Use a soft cloth dampened in lukewarm water to remove stains. CAUTION: Never use a solvent or alcohol. Do not spray cleaners or insecticides near the Model 19. Such chemicals might damage or discolor the outer surfaces. HEAD CLEANING Dirty video heads cause the playback picture to blur, even if the recorded signal is clear. However, video head cleaning is a delicate operation and requires a trained technician. For more head cleaning information, contact your local Radio Shack store. Clean the heads only when picture quality is affected. SERVICING If you have problems operating your Model 19 and you cannot find a solution in this manual, do not open the cabinet and try to solve the problem yourself. There are no user-serviceable parts inside. Turn off the power, unplug the power cord, and take the Model 19 to your local Radio Shack store for assistance. THE FCC WANTS YOU TO KNOW The Model 19 might cause TV or radio interference even when it is operating properly. To determine whether your Model 19 is causing the interference, turn off your Model 19.
