PUNCH-THROUGH

The punch-through feature lets you alternately control two different
devices without pressing the device keys for each one. Here's how it
works.

No device uses all of the Pocket Remote's keys. For example, a TV is
often the only device that uses the VOL keys, and a VCR is usually the
only device that uses keys such as REWIND, FAST F, and so on.

When you press TV and then press VCR. any keys not used by the VCR can
still control the TV.

If your cable box or VCR has a volume control, you can turn off the punch-
through feature by pressing the key equivalents of 4421. This allows
your cable box or VCR to control the volume of your TV set (if it can
already do so).

If you want to control the volume through your cable box, you must press
the CBL key to enter the able mode. If you want to control the volume
through your VCR, you must be in the VCR mode.

                    Press For Number

               VOL UP ARROW 1

               VOL DOWN ARROW 2

              CHAN UP ARROW 3

              CHAN DOWN ARROW 4

To turn off the punch-through feature for your cable box, press:

CHAN DOWN ARROW - CBL - CHAN DOWN ARROW -
CHAN DOWN ARROW - VOL DOWN ARROW - VOL UP ARROW

Remember to press CHAN DOWN ARROW first and then CBL. Hold both keys down
until the red light blinks twice before proceeding with the remaining key
presses.

When the indicator blinks twice, the volume is controlled through your
cable box. To turn on the punch through feature, repeat the procedure.

To turn off the punch-through feature for your VCR, press:

CHAN DOWN ARROW - VCR - CHAN DOWN ARROW
CHAN DOWN ARROW - VOL (arrow down - VOL UP ARROW

Remember to press CHAN DOWN ARROW first, then VCR. Hold both keys down
until the red light blinks twice before proceeding with the remaining key
presses.

When the indicator blinks twice, the volume will be controlled through
your VCR. To turn on the punch-through feature, repeat the procedure.

The punch-through feature does not work if the last two devices you select
have the same (or similar) features. For example, most TVs and VCRs have
CHANNEL keys on their remote controls. In this case, you would have to
press the desired device key before you use the Pocket Remote's CHAN keys.
