The TV/Monitor's tuner can tune up to 99 different cable TV channels.  The
channel display shows these channels as 1 (or 2) - 99.  Channels 2-13 are
usually numbered by the cable service as they appear ont he display. 
However, the cable service might use letters ot letter/number combinations
instead of the numbers that appear on the TV's display.  See the chart
below for common alternate channel designations used by cable services.
