Your Optimus Model 162 MovieCorder combines all the features of a video
camera and a portable VCR in one lightweight package.  Using standard VHS-C
video tape cassettes, you can record and play back home movies in Standard
Play (SP) and Super Long Play (SLP) modes.  The low-light (1 lux) CCD
imager lets you record a clear picture in most lighting conditions.

You can also use the camcorder to play a tape or copy one by connecting
the supplied audio/video cable to a VCR, and use the supplied VHS cassette
adapter to play a tape recorded in the camcorder on your VHS VCR.

These features make operation simple, convenient, and versatile.

                CCD Imager - provides a clear, high-resolution picture,
                             even in low-light conditions (down to 1 lux).

Electronic ViewFinder with - lets you monitor the picture during recording
Adjustable Focus             and playback.

     Four-Speed Power Zoom - lets you go smoothly from wide-angle to
                             telephoto shots.  You control the zoom rate by
                             the amount of pressure you place on the
                             buttons.

                 Auto Fade - lets you fade the picture and sound in and
                             out.

   Auto/Manual/Macro Focus - provides automatic, full-range focusing from
                             1/2 inch (12.7 mm) to infinity for a sharp,
                             clear picture in almost all situations.  You
                             can also focus the camcorder manually for
                             special situations, and focus on close objects
                             for stunning detail.

 Manual High-Speed Shutter - automatically adjusts the shutter's speed from
                             1/60 to 1/250, to ensure the best possible 
                             picture quality.  You can also set the
                             shutter's speed manually for special
                             situations.

          Backlight Button - lets you clearly record a subject even when
                             the surrounding scene is brighter than the
                             subject.

       Tape Speed Selector - lets you choose the tape's speed to select
                             either the best possible recording quality or
                             longer running time.

         Easy Edit Standby - lets you pause the camcorder for up to 24
                             hours while recording, for a smooth transition
                             between scenes.

         Built-In Lens Cap - automatically opens and closes to protect the
                             camcorder's lens.

  Clock/Calendar Character - lets you record the current time and date in

                             the camcorder so it automatically adjusts the
                             displayed time for the time zone you are in
                             and for daylight saving time.

       Built-In Microphone - lets you record sounds along with the video.

     Standard Tripod Mount - lets you mount your camcorder on a video
                             camera tripod (not supplied) for stable
                             operation.

             DC Input Jack - lets you power the camcorder using AC power
                             (using the supplied AC adapter) or DC power
                             (using the supplied battery pack or an
                             optional DC cigarette-lighter adapter).

      Battery Conditioning - the AC adapter lets you fully discharge the
                             battery pack before recharging it, to ensure
                             longer battery pack life.

   Audio/Video Output Jack - lets you connect the camcorder to a TV or VCR,
                             to play back a tape through the TV or copy a
                             tape from the camcorder to a VCR.

            Accessory Shoe - lets you mount an optional color enhancement
                             light on the camcorder.

For your records, we recommend you record your camcorder's serial number in
the space below.  The serial number is on the bottom of the camcorder.
