Programming the Satellites

NOTE:  Make sure to obtain the alignment data from the Radio Shack Store.
       Set the limits and polarity.

1.  If the LOCK is on, press and hold LOCK till the indicator goes off
    (4 seconds). The receiver cannot be programmed when the receiver is
    locked.

2.  Press SATELLITE SELECT [NAME] and [NO] buttons to display the letter/
    number name of one of the satellites you located while aligning the
    dish.  Write down the counter reading from the satellite.

3.  Move the dish to another satellite you located during dish alignment
    and write down its counter reading.

4.  Calculate the number of counts between the two satellites and divide 
    that number by the number of degrees between the two satellites.
    (Some of this information may be displayed in the satellite guide.)

5.  Now, multiply the number of degrees between a known satellite you want
    to locate by the counts per degree to find the approximate number of
    counts to that satellite.

6.  Press [EAST] or [WEST] to move the dish to the calculated counter
    reading.

7.  Press FORMAT V/H to select the proper polarity format for the
    satellite.

8.  Press CHANNEL [up arrow] or [down arrow] to locate an active channel on
    the satellite and confirm that you have located the desired satellite.

9.  Press [EAST] or [WEST] to get the best possible picture.

10. Press POLARITY ADJUST [+] or [-] for additional fine tuning.

11. Press VIDEO FINE TUNE [+] or [-] for additional fine tuning.

12. Repeat Steps 9 through 11 as necessary to obtain the best possible
    picture on that channel.

13. Use SATELLITE SELECT [NAME] and [NO] to display the letter/number
    code for the new satellite.

14. Press STORE to program the satellite's location, polarity format, and
    polarity fine tuning.  The satellite number flashes twice to confirm
    the information is stored.

15. On the same satellite, select a channel that uses the opposite polarity
    format (horizontal or vertical) from the first channel you selected.

16. Repeat Steps 9 and 10 for that channel and press [STORE] to enter the
    information in memory.

Repeat Steps 5 through 16 to locate and program upto 25 satellites. 

To protect stored information, pres [LOCK] so that the LOCK indicator
lights.
