You can operate the TV/monitor from any one of three power sources: Nine alkaline or rechargeable nickel-cadmium batteries. Standard AC power. Vehicle Battery Power. USING INTERNAL BATTERIES When AC power is not available, you can power the TV/monitor from internally installed batteries. We recommend alkaline batteries such as Radio shack's Cat. No. 23-550. You can also use rechargeable nickel cadmium batteries (Cat. No. 23-123). Follow these steps to install the batteries: 1. Be sure the battery compartment connector is unplugged from the 12V DC jack. then remove the battery compartment by gently pressing the compartment's two locking latches in the direction of the arrow and lifting it from the TV/monitor. 2. Install nine D batteries in the battery compartment as indicated by the polarity symbols (+ and -) marked inside the compartment. 3. Replace the battery compartment. Then plug the battery compartment's connector into the TV/monitor's 12V DC jack. NOTES: When the picture becomes smaller, replace the batteries. You cannot recharge nickel-cadmium batteries in the TV/monitor. USING AC POWER To use AC power, connect the supplied AC adapter to the TV/monitor's 12V DC jack. Then plug the adapter's other end into a standard AC outlet. NOTE: Always unplug the AC adapter from the AC outlet before you unplug it from the TV/monitor. USING YOUR VEHICLE'S BATTERY POWER You can power the TV/monitor from your vehicle's cigarette lighter socket using the supplied power cord. CAUTION: Your vehicle must have a 12-volt, negative ground electrical system. Follow these steps to power the TV/monitor from your vehicle's battery power. 1. Plug the DC power cord into the TV/monitor's 12V DC jack. 2. Insert the DC power cord's other end into your vehicle's cigarette- lighter socket. NOTE: Always unplug the power cord from the cigarette-lighter socket before you unplug it from the TV/monitor. CHANGING THE FUSE If the TV does not work using vehicle battery power, check the fuse in the DC adapter cord. If the fuse is blown, replace it with a 3-amp fuse, such as Radio Shack Cat. No. 270-1276. CAUTION: Using a fuse with a higher rating might damage your TV/monitor. (ALL-01/17/95)
