CHOOSING A LOCATION

Choose a location for the TV/VCR near an AC outlet where:

    Air flows freely across the top and back of the TV/VCR.

    The power cord is not in the way of normal traffic.

NOTE:  Do not plug in the power cord until you complete all the other
       connections.

CONNECTING ANTENNAS

The supplied rod antenna provides adequate reception in most areas.

To connect this antenna, insert the rod antenna into the hole on top of the
TV/VCR.  Unscrew the two terminals on the supplied 300- to 75-ohm adapter
and attach the 300-ohm twin-lead connectors.

Then tighten the screws to secure the connectors.

Plug in the adapter to the TV/VCR's IN FROM ANT VHF/UHF terminal.

Connecting an Outdoor Antenna

For the best reception, we recommend that you use an outdoor antenna.
Before you connect the TV/VCR to an outdoor antenna, inspect the antenna
and the antenna's cable.  Severely weathered antennas and antenna cables
can reduce signal quality.  Your local Radio Shack store sells replacement
antenna cable (300-ohm flat wire or 75-ohm coaxial cable) and a wide
variety of outdoor antennas.  The antenna connection you use depends on
the type(s) of antenna(s) and cable you have.

WARNING:  When installing an outdoor antenna, follow all instructions and
          cautions supplied with the antenna.

          If you have a combination VHF/UHF antenna that uses 75-ohm
          coaxial cable, connect the cable directly to the TV/VCR's IN FROM
          VHF/UHF terminal.

          If you have a combination VHF/UHF antenna that uses 300-ohm flat
          wire, connect the flat wire to the screw terminals on the
          supplied 300- to 75-ohm adapter.  Then connect the adapter to the
          TV/VCR's IN FROM ANT VHF/UHF terminal.

          If you have separate VHF and UHF antennas, use a VHF/UHF combiner
          (not supplied) to combine the VHF and UHF antenna cables.  Then
          connect the combiner to the TV/VCR's IN FROM ANT VHF/UHF
          terminal.

CONNECTING CABLE TV

If you subscribe to a cable TV service and do not use a cable box, connect
the cable company's 75-ohm coaxial cable directly to the TV/VCR's IN FROM
ANT VHF/UHF terminal.

If you use a cable box, connect the cable company's cable to the box's 
input.  Using a 75-ohm coaxial cable, connect the box's output terminal to
the TV/VCR's IN FROM ANT VHF/UHF terminal.

Set the TV/VCR to the same channel as the box's output (Channel 3 or 4)
and use the box to select channels.

Note to CATV System Installer:  This reminder is provided to call the CATV
system installer's attention to Section 820-40 of the NEC which provides
guidelines for proper grounding and, in particular, specifies that the
cable ground shall be connected to the grounding system of the building,
as close to the point of cable entry as practical.

CONNECTING AN AUDIO/VIDEO SOURCE

Connecting to the AUDIO/VIDEO IN Jacks

To use your TV/VCR to monitor an audio/video source (such as another VCR,
a camcorder, or a laser disc player), connect the audio/video source's
output jacks to the AUDIO/VIDEO IN jacks on the TV/VCR.

To view the audio/video source, press TV/AV on the remote control so AV
appears on the screen.

Play the audio/video source according to its instructions.  To view
broadcast or cable TV again, press TV/AV again so a channel number or
CABLE appears.

Connecting to the AUDIO/VIDEO OUT Jacks

You can send the current program's video and/or audio signals to another
device such as another VCR or stereo system.

To connect an audio/video device to the TV/VCR, connect the TV/VCR's
"AUDIO/VIDEO OUT" jacks to the audio/video device's input jacks.

CONNECTING TO POWER

Plug the supplied AC power cord into a standard AC outlet.

NOTE:  When the TV/VCR is exposed to a rapid temperature change from cold
       to warm, some condensation will occur.  Under this condition, allow
       at least two hours for the TV/VCR to dry out before you connect it
       to power.
