Home Satellite TV Antenna (160-2508) Finishing Touches Faxback Doc. # 31431 Well..it's done. Your new satellite dish is assembled and aligned to track the satellite arc, and you are ready to route the cable inside your home and start enjoying the many satellite programs. But before you do that, take time to go through this final check list and to attach the electronic's shroud. Then, you can use your satellite system with the knowledge that everything outside is safe and secure. ATTACHING THE ELECTRONIC'S SHROUD The electronics' shroud helps protect your LNB and feedhorn, and the connections to them. Of course, the shroud also gives your installation a more professional, finished look. 1. To make it easier to attach the shroud, move the dish to its east or west limit - press TUNING < or > until the dish stops. Choose the side that positions the dish lower. 2. Place the shroud over the electronics, being careful not to crimp the cable or loosen the connections. 3. Insert the four self-tapping screws from the shroud hardware bag in System Box #2. TIGHTENING ALL THE BOLTS The only way to be sure that each bolt is properly tightened is to use a torque wrench. Tighten each bolt to the exact specifications shown in Faxback Doc. # 31430, "Aligning the Dish." CAUTION: Be sure to note that some values are listed in foot-pounds and others are in inch/pounds. Do not confuse these two units of measure. We do not list tightening specifications for the bolts that hold together the dish panels. Tighten them securely, but not right enough to bend or damage the perforated aluminum panels. Confirm that the post/base bolts are securely tightened. Then, place the supplied black plastic caps over the ends of the rods and over the large nuts. These caps help retard rusting of the threaded rods and also add a finished look to your installation. Make one more complete visual inspection of the dish to see that everything is as it should be, and you're ready to move on to routing of the satellite. REMOVE THE INCLINOMETER Cut the inclinometer's plastic sleeve and discard the gauge. SPRAY PAINT Use the supplied spray paint to prevent rust around any scratches that occurred during assembly.
