ITZA - Remote Control (150-1912) Setup Faxback Doc. # 35310 Setting Up the ITZA for Your TV To set up the ITZA for your TV, turn on your TV, then follow these steps: 1. Find your TV brand in the "Set-Up Code" section (on Faxback Doc. # 34314) The most common codes for that TV brand are listed first. 2. Press and release TV. Then press and hold down MAGIC until the ITZA's operation indicator blinks a second time. While still pressing MAGIC, enter a 3-digit code for that TV brand. 3. Aim the ITZA at your TV and press PWR. Your TV should turn off. NOTE: If your TV does not respond, try all the codes for your brand. If the codes do not work, try the alternative set-up method (below). 4. Write your TV code in the boxes. 5. To operate your TV, press TV first. Then press the function buttons just like on your original remote. Setting Up the ITZA for Your VCR To set up the ITZA for your VCR, turn on your VCR and insert a tape, then follow these steps. 1. Find your VCR brand in the "Set-Up Code" section on Faxback Doc. # 35314. 2. Press and Release VCR. Then press and hold down MAGIC until the ITZA's operation Indicator blinks a second time. While still pressing MAGIC, enter a 3-digit code for that VCR brand. 3. Aim the ITZA at your VCR and press PWR. Your VCR should turn off. If your VCR does not have a Power key, aim and press PLAY to confirm that the remote control is set. NOTES: If your VCR does not respond, try all the codes for your brand. If the codes do not work, try the alternative set-up method (below). If you change channels on your TV through your VCR, press VCR (not TV). 4. Write your VCR code in the boxes. 5. To operate your VCR, press VCR first. Then press the function buttons just like on your original remote. Setting Up the ITZA for Your Cable Box To set up the ITZA for your cable box, turn on your cable box, then follow these steps. 1. Find your cable box brand in the "Set-Up Code" section. On Faxback Doc. # 35314. 2. Press and release CBL. Then press and hold down MAGIC until the ITZA's operation indicator blinks a second time. While still pressing MAGIC, enter a 3-digit code for that cable box brand. 3. Aim the ITZA at your cable box and press PWR. Your cable box should turn off. If your cable box does not have a Power key, aim and press a CH button to confirm that the remote control is set. NOTES: If your cable box does not respond, try all the codes for your brand. If the codes do not work, try the alternative set-up method (below). If you change channels on your TV through your cable box, press CBL (not TV). 4. Write your cable box code in the boxes. 5. To operate your cable box, press CBL first. Then press the function buttons just like on your original remote. Setting Up the ITZA Without Knowing a Code If your TV, VCR or cable box does not respond to the ITZA after you try all the codes for your brand, try setting up the ITZA this way. For example, to find the code for your TV: 1. Turn on your TV. 2. Press and hold MAGIC until the ITZA's operation indicator blinks a second time. 3. While still pressing MAGIC, alternate between pressing PWR and TV until your TV turns off. You might have to press these keys up to 50 or 60 times. 4. When your TV turns off, release MAGIC. Your ITZA is ready to operate your TV. NOTES: Follow Steps 1-4 to find your VCR or cable box code. Turn on the device, and press the appropriate device key in Step 3. You can find out what code got set up by following the procedure in "Getting the ITZA to Tell You What Code it is Using" (below). Getting the ITZA to Tell You What Code it is Using To find out what 3-digit code the ITZA is using for any device, follow this procedure: 1. To get the first digit, press MAGIC until the ITZA's operation indica- tor blinks a second time. While still pressing MAGIC, press TV then 1. Count the number of red blinks. This is the first digit. If there are no blinks, the digit is zero. 2. To get the second digit, while still pressing MAGIC, press 2 and count the number of red blinks. This is the second digit. 3. To get the third digit, while still pressing MAGIC, press 3 and count the number of red blinks. This is the third digit. NOTES: Follow Steps 1-3 to get your VCR and cable box codes.
