ADJUSTING THE SOUND

The TV's audio menus let you set the TV to receive MTS (multi-channel
television sound) stereo programs and any SAP (Secondary Audio Program)
that accompanies the stereo program. You can also select surround sound
for surround broadcasts, if you connect the TV to your home stereo's
speakers.

Selecting the Audio Signal

1. Press SOUND on the remote control until the MTS menu appears.

2. Press VOL + or - until the arrow points to the desired audio signal:
    MONO, STEREO, or SAP.

3. The on-screen display automatically clears in 3 seconds. Or press
    RECALL to clear it.

Selecting Surround Sound

Your TV has decoding circuits that give you the feeling of being
"surrounded" by sound when the TV receives stereo surround broadcast
signals.

NOTES: You must connect the TV to your home stereo system and select a
stereo audio signal in order to achieve the surround effect (see
        "Selecting the Audio Signal").

If you connected the TV to your home stereo system and select
surround sound, when the TV receives a mono or regular stereo
signal, it creates a surround-like effect. The sound is heard
from the speakers connected to your home stereo system.

1. Press SOUND on the remote control until the SURROUND menu appears.

2. Press VOL + or - until the arrow points to ON or OFF.

3. The on-screen display automatically clears in 3 seconds. Or press
    RECALL to clear it.
